Year 5 Summative Assessment
Year 5 completed their Summative Assessment for Unit 2 today. They did very well showing off their presentations for How We Express Ourselves. There were speeches, posters, plays, songs, poems, art pieces, videos and ICT - the children really had thought about how they could express themselves to get the message across.
The children showed great communication skills and were reflective and open-minded. Thanks to the teachers who brought their classes and to the parents who came to support not only their own children but all the children in the Year Group. It was a successful assessment and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was great to see such increased confidence. Well done Year 5.

Year 5 Trip to children's city
Year 5 went to Children's City in Dubai to find out more about Communication to help with our Unit of Inquiry. It was a great day and the children learnt about lots of things including the human body, space and the natural world. It was great to have hands on experience and a fantastic way to learn.
In Class 5A, we had a visit from an Art Teacher from Dubai. She helped us all express ourselves through art. It was great fun! We looked at the work of Wassily Kandinsky and learned that he came from Russia and was an Abstract Artist who used line, colour and shape. Then we listened to classical music to help us focus and think about what we were doing just like Kandinsky did when he was painting. Thank you Mrs Hartley!
