Children in 5A were given a set of 3D shapes to investigate. They were asked to sort them into groups and give each group a name. The children used excellent thinking skills, worked cooperatively and showed excellent knowledge of key language for shape including edges, vertices, faces and perpendicular. All the groups had different ways of sorting and we spent time discussing our reasons and wonderings.
One group decided to group their shapes according to the number of sides.
